Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup Barnyard millet (sama rice)
  • ¼ cup sago (sabudana)
  • 1 liter milk
  • some chopped dry fruits
  • ½ cup jaggery
  • 7 Dates Remove seeds and chop
  • ¼ tsp cardamom powder

Instructions
 

  • Soak sago (sabudana) and rice separately for one hour. Drain the water of both.
  • Heat ghee in a pan and fry some dry fruits. Fry rice lightly in the remaining ghee.
  • Turn off the flame and add sago (sabudana) and mix. Now pour some water in a thick pan, then stir it so that the milk does not stick to the pan.
  • When the milk boils and thickens a little, add sago (sabudana) and rice and cook on low flame. Add cardamom powder and dry fruits in it.
  • Heat two tablespoons of water in a vessel. Cook jaggery and dates on low flame. When the jaggery becomes as thick as honey, let it cool down.
  • When the kheer is cooked and thickens, cool it down and add sugar syrup to it.
  • Your Samaan Rice Kheer is ready. Garnish with dry fruits and serve.
